Before you close your window, thinking "Why would I read about a game named 'Hedgehog Launch'," let me tell you that it is awesome, and if that's not enough for you to keep reading, I'll just have to mention that jmtb02 made it.
Now that I have your attention, Hedgehog Launch is based around a scenario where you are working for the Minovia Cay government, and you must develop a space program for this technologically backwards island. However, they provide you with only a budget of $50.00, and a lot of hedgehogs.
The actual gameplay is where things start to get interesting. First, you are taken to a screen with a lot of upgrades. Spend your $50 wisely, because each upgrade will definitely help you in a different way. Now that your done upgrading, you are taken to a screen with a hedgehog, wearing a jetpack, attached to a launcher. More specifically, the launcher is two wooden poles with an elastic band attached to them (go government funding!). Your goal is to launch the hedgehog into space. Chances are that your not going to get anywhere close to space on your first few launches, so you should spend this time collecting the coins and landing on platforms. Doing so will provide you with more money. Eventually, you will be able to upgrade your way to the point where you can reach space.
I like this game because it has all the aspects of a fun game in a small package. It implements satisfaction and goals via the upgrade system. It implements humor via launching a hedgehog wearing a jetpack into space with a rubber band. It also implements replay value by challenging you to win in even less time.
Those are the basic game mechanics and my opinions, so now I will provide you with a few hints/tips:
Coin/Platform Value
Bronze coins = $0.25
Silver coins = $1.00
Gold coins = $5.00
Blue platform = $1.00 + a very little boost
Green platform = $5.00 + a medium boost
Gold platform = $10.00 + a large boost
Upgrade Descriptions
Band - The higher this upgrade is, the farther you will initially be launched.
Launcher - The higher this upgrade is, the higher up you will start.
Rocket Pack - The higher this upgrade is, the more fuel you are able to use.
Left Rocket - The higher this upgrade is, the farther and faster your left rocket will take you.
Right Rocket - The higher this upgrade is, the farther and faster your right rocket will take you.
E-Rocket - The higher this upgrade is, the more 500 ft. boosts you get.
Parachute - The higher this upgrade is, the more slow descents you receive.
Radar - The higher this upgrade is, the more efficient your platform searching radar will operate.
Goggles - I have no idea.
Other Tips
You get bonus multipliers for 2 things, maximum height and time. Both critically affect the amount you earn per day. Definitely keep the multipliers in mind when contemplating certain paths.
